How long have you been a KEH employee?
I started work on February 8, 1988
What excites you most about working at KEH?
The variety of the products, something new every day!
What is your role(s)?
What day is it? I am a Tech Trainer, but I also fill in for co-workers when they’re out in the returns and repair departments and occasionally work the front desk.
Why is KEH a great place to work?
See above, I’m never bored!
What’s special about the customer experience at KEH?
Our ability to see the customers point of view, as many of us are photographers, I feel as though we’re in touch with their wants. Plus, we’re Southern and ya know, nice.
How does your role at KEH help support our vision/mission?
I help to ensure that our new hires all have consistent training. By helping in other departments when there is a need, I’m providing continuity, so that we don’t get too far behind.
How does being a photographer help you perform your role here?
I was [a photographer], although I can’t really claim that so much anymore. I have a BFA in Photography from Georgia State University. My interest was mostly landscapes and found objects. I love large format infrared. I understand the passion so many have for “their” particular brand of camera, and because of my background, I feel that our customers can hear that in my voice; that I’m really interested in what they have to say.
Do you have other special talents or hobbies?
I try to remember birthdays and bake cakes.
A saying you live by?
Not really, but I got this really cool one from a random quote generator just so you won’t be disappointed:
“Procrastination is the art of keeping up with yesterday.” Don Marquis
