Making an Impact in Atlanta: Supporting Hands On Atlanta and Grady’s Food as Medicine Program

At KEH, we believe that being part of a community means actively contributing to its well-being. Recently, our team had the incredible opportunity to support two organizations that are making a real difference in Atlanta: Hands On Atlanta and Grady’s Food as Medicine Program. Together, we participated in their Fresh Food Cart event, where we helped distribute over 8,000 pounds of fresh, nutritious food to 420 households across the city.

The Fresh Food Cart is more than just a food distribution program—it’s a lifeline for many families. By providing healthy, fresh options, the initiative aims to improve access to nutritious food in underserved communities, directly addressing the challenges of food insecurity. Food insecurity affects thousands of families in Atlanta, and the mission of Grady’s Food as Medicine Program is to promote better health through access to fresh produce to improve the overall well-being of families who rely on these resources.

This experience was eye-opening for our team. It’s one thing to hear about food insecurity; it’s another to witness firsthand in your own community and experience the positive impact that a program like this can have on so many families. Every person who walked away with fresh produce left with more than just groceries—they also came away with the tools to promote better health. Many of these families would otherwise struggle to access the healthy food they need to maintain a balanced diet, and this event helped alleviate that burden, even if just for a week.

Working alongside Hands On Atlanta and Grady’s Food as Medicine Program has been a humbling experience. These organizations are devoted to making a meaningful, long-term impact in our community. Their work goes beyond simply distributing food; they’re changing lives, one meal at a time. They work tirelessly to bridge the gap between nutrition and accessibility, ensuring that families in need are not left behind.

For our team, the day was not just about lending a hand—it was about reinforcing our commitment to the community. We are deeply proud to collaborate with organizations whose mission aligns with our values: to help make our community a healthier, more equitable place to live.

We are incredibly grateful to Hands On Atlanta and Grady’s Food as Medicine Program for allowing us to contribute to this vital cause. Their work is truly inspiring, and we’re honored to have had the chance to support their efforts in providing nutritious food to Atlanta families. We look forward to future opportunities to partner with them and continue making a positive impact on our community.

If you’d like to get involved or learn more about these incredible organizations, we encourage you to see how you can support their mission. Every effort, no matter how small, contributes to a healthier and more equitable future for all.
